Nick Loven set up a small video company, with graduate Chris Roberts, called Crow’s Eye Productions. Nick loves Lincolnshire heritage and sees it as a successful way to pursue his film-making.

Nick graduated in media production in 2001. He talks frankly about how part-time work, strong family connections and his passion for film-making mean he can survive in the media industry:

On location at Goltho Church NIck told us that forging local partnerships is the way forward because promoting the past could be his future:

Chris Roberts loves film making so he enrolled as a mature student on the media production degree. He successfully graduated and retrained to make that all important career change.

Chris reflected on how graduating and getting work can lead to opportunities. But you have to be realistic about what it takes to make it in the media industry after graduating.

Chris set up Crow’s Eye video productions, with fellow media production graduate Nick Loven, to capture their love of local history and heritage. As any film-maker will testify it is rarely glamorous shooting on location, especially when we caught up with the crew on a wintry Valentine’s Day at Goltho Church in Lincolnshire.
