The University of Lincoln Students’ Union will launch the brand new Lincoln School of FIlm & Media Society on Friday 29th March. The event will be held in The Platform, above The Engine Shed, from 6:30pm to 8.00pm and all at LSFM are welcome to come. Here’s a message from President of the LSFM Society, Media Production student, Naomi Lawson:
The event will essentially be an opportunity to experience a taster social at The Platform. There’ll be a finger-food buffet, the bar will be open and there will board games and a quiz with prizes. The committee will do a short presentation about what our society is and what we intend to do, but other than this it will be a chance to socialise and meet students and staff from different areas of LSFM.
The LSFM Society said: We’d also like to know if tutors would be interested in speaking to the society next academic year about their careers and experience in industry or academia; as a committee, we feel that it is extremely useful to learn about our tutors’ experiences as it provides an insight into how to advance our own career paths. Many members of staff within LSFM have valuable experiences as media academics and practitioners, but this isn’t really spoken about and we would really love the opportunity to learn more about this.
