The Vacancy

The 18 month post has been created as a result of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (www.ktponline.co.uk) between NHS Lincolnshire (www.lpct.nhs.uk) and the University of Lincoln (www.lincoln.ac.uk).

Although the KTP Associate will be formally employed by the University, they will be based at NHS Lincolnshire in either Lincoln or Boston. Supervision will be managed jointly by the company and the Lincoln School of Media at the University of Lincoln.

NHS Lincolnshire is the sixth largest PCT in the country and is responsible for the delivery of World Class Health Services across Lincolnshire. NHS Lincolnshire is funded as part of the NHS. The Lincolnshire Learning Academy are employees of NHS Lincolnshire and are responsible for managing and developing a range of clinical and non-clinical training modules for staff across the organisation.

The KTP Associate will lead a project to research, develop and embed skills to allow NHS Lincolnshire to create video based e-learning modules. This will require well developed planning, video/sound recording and post production skills and ideally suit a recent graduate from a media production (or related) degree course. The Associate will use their skills to produce suitable video content and work closely with the Lincolnshire Learning Academy to develop associated processes to embed these skills within NHS Lincolnshire.

The Associate will research and document existing courses as well as source and help commission a media asset management system. Further tasks include developing video based blended learning materials and producing a blended learning and media (information) strategy for NHS Lincolnshire. The role will also entail helping the company develop media quality control and suitable evaluation processes, amongst other tasks.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are part of a national Government-supported initiative, which supports partnerships between business and universities, enabling Associates to work on challenging, high profile projects. The Candidate

The successful candidate must hold a 1st or 2:1 degree in Media Production or closely related subjects. The candidate will need experience of filming and post-producing non-fiction videos as well as using standard Digital Asset Management software. Knowledge of web based learning technology (i.e. Blackboard) and web-streaming and video podcasting technology would be desirable. Excellent project management skills are essential as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team.
