Meet the Grads 2018Meet the Graduates is Lincoln School of Film & Media’s annual alumni event on-campus for students to connect with creatives from the working world. Former students from 2002 to 2017 shared their experiences, tips and advice with current students on the 14th November with a Question Time Graduate Panel and Networking. MtG 2016 held its popular Question Time hosted by Daniel J Layton (Class of 2012). Our audience with alumni spoke about life post-university on anything our students wanted to know. The media company offers paid opportunities for our students to work with clients. NML provides ‘bespoke media services to Local Authorities, businesses, charities and community groups. Meet the Graduates | Video on job interviews

Meet_the_Graduates_150wMeet the Graduates is just one of Lincoln School of Film & Media‘s popular networking events between our creative alumni and students.  The most recent symposium was on-campus, last October, with a packed audience at the Graduate Question Time. On the panel were alumni from 2003 to 2014: Video Director Lewis Cater, Digital Strategist Jo Graham (doing a KTP at Mortons Media Group), Screenwriter Tony Kelly, 4Crew Production Co-ordinator Aleysha Minns, freelance sound operator / technician Tom Ward and Wallbreaker Productions Producer Ashley Wilks.

The video is on their experiences about going for job interviews in the creative industries and it was captured by LSFM student crew via New Media Lincs. Thanks to 2nd year Audio Production undergraduate Mihail Sustov and 3rd year Media Production students Alex Faulkner & Rory McCarney. This piece (and the vox pop, see previous post) was produced by Rory.

The networking event between our students and graduates was part of Lincoln School of Media’s 20th anniversary at the University of Lincoln. Thanks to all alumni, students and staff who came to MtG 2014. 

Alumni Stuart Lutes (Class of 2001), Adam Verity (Class of 2002), Zoe Easey (Class of 2007), Phil Stevens (Class of 2010), Holly Smith (class of 2010) and Stephen Bernard (Class of 2013) were on ‘Graduate Question Time’. LSM’s student crew, via New Media Lincs, Year 2 Rory McCarney, Year 3 Kirsty Gibson and Kamil Rewers captured the popular Networking & Graduate Question Time.  In this piece, our former students share their experiences about where’s best to be based in the country for opportunities and the value in doing work experience.

Meet the Graduates 2014 | Where Are They Now?

20-years-media-graduates-logoWe’ve a series of clips this week from Meet the Graduates 2014. In the first piece you can find out where some of our alumni are now. Head of Lincoln School of Media, Sarah Barrow, officially introduced MtG 2014. It was a special occasion because it was one of the School’s event to mark 20 years of media at the University of Lincoln.  Meet the Grads was bigger than ever. Over 30 alumni attended (see who we spotted, names are below the video) the networking event between our students and graduates. Many thanks to you all for making, and marking, MtG 2014!
