The pageant that I am taking part in on August 10th in Luton is edging nearer and I need as MANY votes as I can get. If you could click on the link and vote for me being the face of the pageant I’d really appreciate that and anyone else you can spread the message to would be greatly appreciated also.
Our multi-talented 2007 graduate rounds up her latest events, both here & abroad.
I got the shock of my life when a friend of mine in St Lucia sent a picture of me on the front cover of a St Lucian Magazine! Basically the photographer was St Lucian, she’s well known and got interviewed for a mag over there. They asked to see/use some of her portfolio for the feature, so she let me know that they might use it for the interview.
So there I was thinking if they were going to use anything, it would be some small little insert in the article, but nooooo, not only did they use ‘my’ picture, they put it on the front cover, which I was WELL chuffed about! Gonna get a copy soon! Continue reading →
Many congrats to our 2007 graduate Dani Moseley who was listed in the ‘Outstanding Guest Actress Award’ at the LA Web Series Festival 2013 for playing Simone in Brothers With No Game - BWNG to its web viewers. The online comedy drama won multiple awards, from producing to editing. Dani told me the first season was very popular and her character has been very well received: “I get stopped in the street more for that than anything else and because it is online, it’s always something I can refer people to. They can watch it ‘instantly’ whereas TV has happened & gone.” Continue reading →
It’s about your ideas not what software you use – it is important to keep up to date with emerging technologies and software but your ideas are the most important thing
I started BROKENLOGO in 2007 in my last few weeks of my course – undertaking my initial piece of professional design work for the University and at the same time as working on the promotions team for the Engine Shed in its debut year. This role allowed me to achieve a position at the 02 Bristol Academy undertaking a similar role quite quickly after I’d moved to Bristol. Continue reading →
LSM’s 2007 graduates Zoe Easey and Will King are co-directors at Epix Media in Lincoln. The creative business has doubled its turnover and its staff. Well done!
Senior Web Developer Zoe established the business in 2010. A year later, Will joined as a Videographer. They say the “Uni-factor” has come into play, because theSchool of Media is where their first employees have come from:
Our creative business Epix Media has crowned a hectic six months by doubling its team where we’ve recruited two interns from the Lincoln School of Media. We’re particularly pleased to have been able to offer internships to ambitious young people who’re keen to work within the highly competitive media sector. Welcome to Stefania Palmisano (MA in Media Production) and Sam Kelham (BA in Media Production). Continue reading →
Meet the Graduates (MtG)is always a highlight at theLincoln School of Media. Katie Martin, class of 2012, captured our alumni at this year’s networking event between graduates and students. Katie’s just finished an internship at the Uni and now she’s landed a staff job here as Social Media Officer – many congrats. This is her vox/pop on tips graduates would give to our third year students. It’s a timely piece as the next generation of our creatives leave the LSM, so listen up and good luck!
Final year students, we look forward to seeing your stories here so please keep us posted on what you’re up to! Of course you’ll be invited to our next Meet the Graduates, but for now the buzz of this year’s is still with us.Continue reading →
Meet the Graduates (MtG)is always a highlight at the Lincoln School of Media and this year’s networking event between graduates and students was no exception. As our third year students are on the verge of graduating (good luck), our alumni were asked what they missed most about being a student? Katie Martin, who graduated last year, captured frank and funny answers from alumni talking about their love of Lincoln and that student lifestyle …
This is my first blog post for a while – and in that time a lot has happened! I’ll quickly run through my life since Uni via a few links to previous blog posts, then bring you up to date with where I am currently, followed by a few hints & tips for current students.
For example, attend events like Meet the Graduates - I wish they’d had this back in my day! It’s a good chance to compare and contrast people who were in your shoes quite recently and figure out the direction you want to take. I graduated from Media Production in 2007. I was fortunate enough to immediately find work with Interflora British Unit as their in-house Video Producer. Continue reading →
