Dani Moseley, Class of 2007 | BBC TV Doctors. BUFF Award & more..

DaniMoseley-Doctors-2pics_2016WOW! My last update was June 2015. A lot has happened since then – I am an LSFM Industry mentor, and you can see my character Carly Fisher in BBC One’s Doctors THIS Thursday at 1.45. But I’m just going to do a quick overview as, looking back, I write too much lol. It’s the writer in me. The Forty Elephants film script got put into The British Urban Film Festival and Ch4 and we won BUFF Live Script Reading award (for 2015). Who’d have thought my first award would be for writing?

DaniMoseley-capture-2016I did another subjectivity event where I had to write 3 monologues to do with ‘youth and the criminal justice system.’ Where the audience was a jury and had to decide whether the young person deserved to go down or not. We had a panel of experts (lawyers and those working in the justice system) to clarify what the real verdict would be and it all happened at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank. The monologues and acting were received so well – some people were crying thinking they were real cases, which for me as a writer was brilliant especially as they rhymed, yet still seen as that actor truth. Powerful!  The Forty Elephants was then put on at the Tavistock and POP Brixton and it went down a storm. They were my last performances and involvement with the play and Hiype productions. I have since parted ways, wanting to pursue other projects and go to LA, which has been the focus of 2016. On New Year’s Eve I sat down around a table, with two of my best friends with a notepad, pen and a glass of wine and we wrote our goals for 2016! Rachel Hagreen, Class of 2014 | Career Update: Sorted. Food!

A brand new blog post and another brand new job. That’s right, I’ve moved again. I’ve only been in London for under 2 years and this is already my third job.  But this one is the one.  In July 2015 I wrote a blog on here about having to start my own cooking channel because it was so difficult to get a job in online food video production. Little did I know that starting How To Kitchen would actually help me secure a job on my favourite cooking channel on YouTube, SORTEDfood.com

As of April 2016, I became a camera operator and editor for the channel and have loved every second of it so far. This was the video I filmed on my second day working for them. Needless to say I nearly threw up on my first shoot day (not even joking).

Since then, I’ve been busy shooting and editing a number of their varied videos. The interview process was absolutely terrifying. Continue reading

Michael Henry, Class of 2009 | Official Trailer ‘MUTE’ (2016)

Michael Henry_2009GradIndependent filmmaker, who is one of our inspirational LSFM Industry Mentors, 2009 alumnus Michael Henry has posted an update on the latest development at Quandary Productions

We’ve recently released the official trailer to our latest feature film ‘MUTE’, written and directed by me, and here’s the synopsis:  Verbal communication has been outlawed by the rich elite, in an attempt to stop people speaking out against the conditions they live in. The new laws are enforced by the security department of the ‘Spectrum’ corporation – a huge conglomerate of the five biggest companies in the world. A voyeuristic filmmaker falls in love with an underground spoken word artist. As they find themselves unable to talk to one another, they start to make small films and write letters to one another. As the poet speaks out against ‘Spectrum’ and its owners, their lives become in danger. Will they be able to save each other in time?

To be released May of this year, on various platforms, including 4k Ultra HD, we’ll be looking to make this a huge hit at festivals around the world. Continue reading
