Lincoln Shorts 2012

From Tim Johns:

Submissions open for new Lincolnshire film festival! ‘Lincoln Shorts’ is now accepting video submissions for its second ever event – confirmed to take place at the Lincoln Drill Hall on March 7th, 2012. There are only two criteria for submitting video to Lincoln Shorts – it must have a local connection, and it must be less than five minutes long. Filmmakers can submit their material here

Anybody in Lincolnshire with anything worth watching is encouraged to submit what they have – it doesn’t matter whether it’s amateur or professional, filmed on a phone or DSLR – if others might enjoy seeing it, send it in.

After the event in March, the audience will leave shocked, excited and amazed by the wealth and breadth of filmmaking talent right on their doorstep. Filmmaking they never knew existed.

A pilot ‘Lincoln Shorts’ event in July 2011 proved to be an incredible success, and so is returning – well en-route to becoming Lincolnshire’s first ever film festival.

Lincoln Shorts will screen a huge range of short films and videos, from the most basic amateur home-movies, to those from professional production companies in Lincolnshire, to those from local film-students. Everyone is welcome to submit their footage.

We were blown away by the support at the pilot Lincoln Shorts event, so we’re really excited that it looks set to continue as a key part of Lincolnshire’s ever-growing ‘cultural calendar’. I don’t think people realise how much filmmaking is happening right on their doorstep – this is their chance to come and see it. We’ll screen some amazing stuff in March, but people shouldn’t be put off submitting their own material because they don’t think it’s good enough – our team is keen to look at everything Lincolnshire has to offer – we’re building a database of Lincolnshire-filmmakers.
