The Fringe comes to Lincoln next week

Lincoln Performing Arts Centre

If you happen to be in or near Lincoln next week, get in the queue for tickets a the LPAC, as our Performing Arts Company stage their recent Edinburgh successes. Details from Andy Jordan:

The Lincoln Company, the student/staff company at The Lincoln School of Performing Arts, will be presenting five of the six theatre productions it presented at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe in LPAC next week.

Wednesday 22nd September: SHADOW BOXING at 3pm, DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE at 5pm, BLOOD BROTHERS at 7pm.

Thursday 23rd September: THE DUMB WAITER at 3pm, BLOOD BROTHERS at 5pm, THE MAN WHO FELL OUT OF BED at 7pm.

Please come to see as many of the shows as you can. And please, please, please urge any students – returning ones and freshers – to come and see the shows. We want all students at the University to be excited about the work that fellow students are doing, and about the exciting opportunities for student involvement that projects such as The Lincoln Company at the Edinburgh Festival provides. The annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe project has previously involved students and staff from other departments and disciplines, and we very much want to encourage more such involvement from students and staff outside The School of Performing Arts.

Tickets are £5.00 (per show), and are available on a first come, first served basis. They can be bought at the Engine Shed and LPAC box office, or via the website. Box Office: 0844 8884414. In person: LPAC and Engine Shed Box Office, Mon-Fri 10am – 4pm. Website: www.lpac.co.uk .

The performance space is small: depending on the playing configuration being used, the seating capacity will vary between 70 – 86 seats, so demand for a seat may be high…..

The precise schedule of performances is:

Wednesday 22nd September: Shadow Boxing by James Gaddas at 3pm, Down the Rabbit Hole by Alice Batchelar at 5pm (a re-imagining of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland), Blood Brothers by Willy Russell (the original play, NOT the musical!) at 7pm.

Thursday 23rd September: The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter at 3pm, Blood Brothers by Willy Russell at 5pm, and The Man Who Fell Out Of Bed by Paul Sellar at 7pm (a Lincoln Company new play commission, developed with the cast, and published by Oberon Books to coincide with its Edinburgh opening).

Hope to see you at a performance next week!
