Well done to LSFM’s Chris Matthews.  He said: Our book has been named as London Review Bookshop’s Book of the WeekReally chuffed – couldn’t be better. Job done!’ His good news was shared by Lizzy Mitchell at the University of Lincoln’s Press & Media:

Towns-in-Britain_BookCoverChris Matthews, who is a Lincoln School of Film & Media lecturer, graphic designer and local historian, celebrated the launch of his new book, Towns in Britain, earlier this year.  It was produced in collaboration with town planner and urban designer, Adrian Jones, and published by Five Leaves Publishing (2014).

Written for the informed general reader, Towns in Britain looks at what is happening to our cities today, and is cited as essential reading for those interested in urban design, architecture, and town and transport planning. Towns in Britain aims to stimulate discussion about important topics such as the housing crisis, the quality of urban regeneration, place-making and the creation of civilised streets.

It has now been named as “Book of the Week” by the London Review Bookshop, which is renowned for being “an essential part of the capital’s cultural life”.
